How I know I’m enough of a nerd for law school:
Last night, as I sat on mid-shift at 0215 in the basement of the Pentagon(sometimes a very lonely place), my boredom reached new levels.

Instead of rereading CNN.com for the 25th (or was it 28th?) time of the night, I decided to learn the 500 most common Latin and Greek roots that most words are derived from. So here I am, in the midst of creating flash cards for my own random self-study goals.

Maybe someday during a conversation at a firm, I’ll randomly interject – “oh – autocrat comes from the Greek roots ‘auto’, meaning ‘self’, and ‘crat’, meaning ‘rule’. I’m so smart! Grovel at my feet!” – even though we weren’t talking about anything remotely related to autocrats.

Undoubtedly, everyone will be impressed and pay me hundreds of thousands of dollars a year.

I’d say this is a good first step toward world domination.
